FDA Lists Regulations Under Development and Updates Priority Guidance Topics for Foods Program

The FDA’s Foods Program has posted a new website listing regulations it plans to publish by October 2024 and long-term regulations it is prioritizing for publication at a later date. Additionally, FDA has updated the list of guidance topics it is considering and expects to publish by the end of 2024.

Prop 65 Cases Spike Post-Pandemic with Focus on Heavy Metals, Settlement Amounts Rise

Since the pandemic, cases alleging food and beverage companies violated California’s Prop 65 by not adequately warning Californians that a product may expose them to chemicals that can cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm have increased dramatically – along with the amount it takes to settle them, according to analysis by the law firm Perkins Coie.
